OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Senate has voted overwhelmingly to allow the hunting of wild feral hogs from helicopters.
Feral hogs have increased in number in Oklahoma and are causing damage to crops.
Sen. Mike Schulz of Altus says they run in herds and can weigh hundreds of pounds.
Schulz's bill passed Thursday on a 37-9 vote, despite safety concerns expressed by some senators. It returns to the House, where final approval is expected.
