TULSA, Okla. (AP) - U.S. Attorney David O'Melia of Tulsa is hospitalized at an undisclosed location with a "serious" illness he contracted while traveling.
Spokesman Randal Edgmon with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tulsa says he can't disclose where the 57-year-old O'Melia is hospitalized to protect the family's privacy.
Edgmon also declined to reveal the nature of O'Melia's illness but says it is not swine flu and that O'Melia has not been to Mexico where the disease is blamed for more than 150 deaths.
Edgmon says O'Melia is expected to return to work when he recovers but that there is no timetable for his return.
O'Melia has been U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of
Oklahoma since October 2001.
