THE VILLAGE, Okla. (AP) - Police in the Oklahoma City suburb of The Village say a missing 81-year-old woman has been found alive.
Her condition and details of her discovery were not immediately available.
The Village Police Lt. Russ Landon says Maxine Lavender was found about 11:10 a.m. Monday about six blocks from her home. She had been reported missing about 4:15 a.m. by her husband.
Lavender suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia and Landon says it appears she simply walked away from her home.
Landon says Lavender was found at an intersection where the jurisdictions of The Village and Oklahoma City meet and it wasn't
immediately clear which city she was in.
A "Silver Alert" had been issued for Landon. The Silver Alert is patterned after the Amber Alert system for missing children.
