Teen girls plead guilty in Lawton killing

LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - Two 17-year-old Lawton girls have been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing an 81-year-old man in his home.

Kelsey Campbell and Jade Burns each pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the beating death of Johnny Thorp in March 2008.

The girls were 15 and 16 at the time.

Authorities say Campbell, Burns and Ricky Gallegos went to Thorp's home to rob him and Gallegos beat him when he refused to give them the combination to his safe. Investigators say the three got $90 and the victim's truck.

Gallegos pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in February and was sentenced to life in prison.
