Pauls Valley mayor wins draw after tie vote

PAULS VALLEY, Okla. (AP) - The mayor of Pauls Valley has won a
draw for a third term on the Garvin County town's council.

Mayor Tim Gamble and challenger Kevin Stark each received 321 votes in the May 12 election for the council seat and neither candidate sought a recount, resulting in the draw.

More than two dozen people watched Tuesday as Garvin County Special Judge Tricia Misak drew Gamble's name from a red, white and
blue box.

Gamble says the wait for the draw was uncomfortable, although county election board secretary Cathy Brinley says it was conducted
as soon as possible under state law.
