TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in Tulsa say bite marks on a man's cheeks has provided the evidence needed for a murder charge in a nearly year-old stabbing.
Prosecutors filed a first-degree murder charge Tuesday against 27-year-old David Lee Benson in the June 2008 stabbing death of 44-year-old Mark Grace.
Benson is not in custody and police are searching for him.
Police say Grace was attacked and stabbed after breaking up a fight between a friend and another man and that the friend had bitten the man on both sides of his face.
A forensic odentologist compared impressions of the teeth of Grace's friend with the bite pattern seen in pictures of scars on Benson's face and determined they are consistent.
