OKC police probe actress' link to shark signs

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police have started an investigation after photos surfaced that appear to show actress Jessica Alba defacing property by plastering posters in the downtown area.

Alba has issued an apology saying she "got involved in something I should have had no part of."

Telephone messages left with Alba's attorney and publicist were not returned Wednesday.

Police say they found posters of a great white shark glued to a downtown bridge, electrical box, traffic control box and a billboard displaying a United Way advertisement.

Photos of Alba apparently gluing posters to a bridge and an electrical box and posing in front of the billboard were posted to the site of blogger White Mike, but later removed.

The site says the posters are designed to raise awareness of the
dwindling population of great white sharks.

Alba starred as the invisible woman in the "Fantastic Four" movies and is in Oklahoma filming "The Killer Inside Me."
