$5.1 million in stimulus funds to state for police

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Four Oklahoma police departments will share about $5.1 million in federal stimulus funds for additional police officers.

The Tulsa Police Department will get $3.5 million for 18 officers while Oklahoma City will receive $1.37 million for seven officers.

Broken Bow will be getting $117,100 one officer and the Choctaw Nation will receive $114,998 for one officer.

The funding pays for the officers' salaries and benefits for three years with each department committing to funding the positions for at least one additional year.
