OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police say the manager of a program that targets high-crime areas in the city has been suspended.
Capt. Steve McCool says Operation Weed and Seed manager Ed Martin is suspended with pay pending a personnel investigation.
The program has received millions of dollars in federal grants over the past 15 years to increase police enforcement in high crime areas and to pay for social programs.
McCool says after police took over administration of Operation Weed and Seed on July 1 a review found possible problems with the management of the grant month. He says Martin was suspended because the review raised concerns.
He declined to say what those concerns are.
Martin could not be reached for comment.
