Jail inmate dies

HOBART, Okla. (AP) - State investigators say a Kiowa County Jail inmate who was found dead over the weekend used elastic from his
waistband to hang himself.

Richard Goss of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday a jail employee found Quentin Greear lifeless in a shower area during a routine inspection Sunday morning.

Goss says the 23-year-old Wichita Falls, Texas, resident immediately was cut down and taken to Elkview General Hospital in Hobart, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Goss said there was no indication of foul play, but OSBI, the state jail inspector and the state medical examiner's office will investigate.

Goss says Greear was arrested and booked into the Kiowa County Jail Thursday on outstanding warrants from Kiowa and Jackson counties.
