TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Police in Tulsa are looking into whether a series of fights at a high school football game is connected to the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy.
Jacob Barnes was shot and killed Friday afternoon while walking after getting off a school bus.
Police Officer Jason Willingham says detectives are trying to determine if the shooting had anything to do with the fights during the Booker T. Washington-East Central football game on Sept. 11. Willingham says police are also looking at the possibility the shooting was gang-related or if he even knew the shooter.
Barnes' aunt, Carla Mackey, says Barnes was at the game when the fights broke out and that the family has been told he was jumped by three people. But she says Barnes never mentioned the fight.
