ENID, Okla. (AP) - Attorney Scott Wood of Tulsa says he now represents Enid Police Capts. Dean Grassino and Tom Nichols after they were suspended and are being investigated.
Enid police issued a statement Dec. 16 saying two officers were suspended after allegations of misconduct following their testimony in the double-murder trial of Rudarity Archilta Sr.
Police have declined to identify the two officers.
Wood says the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into whether perjury was committed during the trial in which Archilta was found not guilty. He says Grassino and Nichols deny any wrongdoing.
Enid Police Capt. Jack Morris referred to the Dec. 16 statement when asked about Grassino and Nichols.
