Former Marine charged with child sexual abuse

DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) - A former Marine who already is the subject of a federal complaint involving a grenade launcher has been charged with one count of child sexual abuse.
Stephens County prosecutors on Wednesday formally charged Charles Alan Dyer in connection with the alleged rape of a girl on Jan. 2.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Dyer Jan. 12 on the rape allegations at his home in Marlow, where they reported finding several firearms and a device officials say is a Colt M-203, 40-millimeter grenade launcher.
There was no response Saturday to a message seeking comment that was left at a telephone number for the office of David W. Hammond
of Duncan, a lawyer for Dyer.
Sheriff Wayne McKinney told federal authorities that Dyer allegedly has ties to militia groups.
According to a federal complaint, the grenade launcher was stolen from Fort Irwin, Calif., in 2006. Dyer was charged with possession of an unregistered destructive device.
McKinney says Dyer is in federal custody.
