LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton is laying off 56 employees - including the hospital's chief operating officer.
Hospital CEO Randy Segler said Thursday the layoffs are due to the sluggish economy and cuts in reimbursements from Medicare and Medicaid. He says the layoffs include COO Doug Weaver and cuts in management, business, support, patient care and contracted nurses.
The cuts are expected to save the hospital $5 million a year.
