VALLEY BROOK, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma County Sheriff's
Department is investigating the shooting and wounding of a man by a
Valley Brook police officer.
Sheriff's spokesman Mark Myers says 42-year-old Robert Phipps
was shot in the upper body when two officers tried to arrest him
for felony domestic abuse in the Oklahoma City suburb. Phipps was
treated at a local hospital, then arrested on the abuse charge.
Myers says Phipps ran out the back door of a home when one
officer arrived and was met in the back yard by the second officer.
Myers says Phipps then went back into the house where he was shot
