Enid police investigate toddler's death
ENID, Okla. (AP) - Enid police are investigating the death of a
toddler who was discovered drowned in a bathtub.
Police Lt. Eric Holtzclaw says a mother called police Sunday
night and reported her son had drowned in the tub. The toddler,
identified Monday as 15-month-old Amon Larson, was taken to a local
hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The mother's name was not released, and Holtzclaw says the case
is currently under investigation.
Work begins on new social work building at OU
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Work is starting on a new facility for the
University of Oklahoma's School of Social Work, which will be named
for prominent donor Henry Zarrow and his late wife, Anne Zarrow.
OU President David Boren and other university officials
participated in a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday for the
building, which will be known as Anne and Henry Zarrow Hall.
Officials say the building will feature the traditional Cherokee
Gothic architecture of some of the university's most historic
The Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation recently gave $5 million to
the OU School of Social Work, which also is named in their honor.
