OU scholarship fundraising drive passes $150M goal
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - University of Oklahoma President David Boren says OU has passed its fundraising goal of $150 million for its Campaign for Scholarships.
Boren said Wednesday during a university convocation that the campaign is being extended for five more years and has a new goal of $250 million.
Boren says almost 21,000 people have given or pledged a total of $157 million to the campaign so far, which has allowed OU to triple its original scholarship fundraising goal in less than five years.
OU officials say the campaign's success has allowed the university to more than double its private scholarships during the last five years.
