Two charged in connection with burned body in Okla

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - An Oklahoma City man and Midwest City woman have been charged with arson and desecration of a human corpse in connection with a burned body found in Norman.

Court records show 23-year-old Juan Antonio Garcia and 23-year-old Nichole Buchtel were charged Thursday. The court documents do not show an attorney for either defendant.

The court papers say Garcia and Buchtel set fire to the remains of 25-year-old Denise Ann White. The remains were found March 17 in a wooded area of east Norman.

Probable cause affidavits filed with the charges say both Garcia and Buchtel told police that White committed suicide. A search warrant says White's skull had two holes on the right side above the eye.
