Authorities say Shannon Dion Swan excused himself from a work
crew Thursday afternoon at the Dewey Fairgrounds, saying he had to
use the restroom. After he had been gone about five minutes, the
crew supervisor went to look for Swan and found him gone.
Swan had been in the county detention center since October 2009,
when he was arrested on charges of misdemeanor threats, burglary
and failure to pay fines. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with
holes in the knees, a white T-shirt and boots.
The Washington County District Attorney's office says a felony
charge of escaping from custody has been filed against Swan.
