Heavy rain in Okla., traps motorist, homes flooded

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Heavy rain fell across eastern Oklahoma and trapped at least one motorist in Muskogee as others fled their cars on flooded streets in Tulsa before the storm moved into Arkansas.
Muskogee Emergency Management Director James Moore says a motorist was stranded early Thursday when he drove into high water. Moore says rescuers waded through swift water to tie a lifejacket on the man and pull him to safety. No injuries are reported.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch through 1 a.m. Friday for all but the far southwestern corner of the state and a small portion of east-central Arkansas.
