Authorities say a Woodward man drowned in Lake Fort Supply while trying to rescue his dog.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Sean Henson drowned
about 100 yards away from the lake's Small Beach swimming area.
Woodward County Sheriff Gary Stanley says divers recovered the body about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Trooper Johnny Chaffin says Henson and the dog were riding a jet ski on Tuesday when the dog jumped off. Henson jumped into the water to retrieve the dog and never resurfaced. The dog swam to shore.
Chaffin says Henson was located with sonar equipment about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, but water conditions prevented them from pulling him out.
