Two state senators are challenging the qualifications of others running against them.
Republican Sen. Anthony Sykes of Moore filed a challenge Thursday against independent Jason Williford of Sulphur in the Senate District 24 race. Sykes says Williford does not meet the residency requirements to run in the district.
Republican Sen. David Myers of Ponca City has challenged
independent Ronald R. Buck of Ponca City for the District 20 seat.
Myers says Buck did not change his party registration from Democrat
to independent in a timely manner.
In addition, Republican Howard Pidcock of Sand Springs is
contesting the eligibility of Republican David Roberts of Sand
Springs to run in House District 68. A hearing on the challenges is scheduled for June 18. The primary election is July 27.
