ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) - A former Anadarko Public Schools employee
charged with stealing children's lunch money has been sentenced to
60 days in jail after pleading guilty.
Court records show that 28-year-old Tricia Nicole Bunnell of Chickasha entered a plea to an embezzlement charge in Caddo County District Court earlier this month. According to the records, Bunnell was also fined $1,610 in court costs, ordered to pay $3,435 in restitution and perform 24 hours of community service before Dec. 1.
Prosecutors said Bunnell was responsible for keeping track of cafeteria accounts. They said she diverted to her own use money she
took from students, teachers and staff members, and didn't post the
payments to the accounts of those she accepted the money from.
School officials said the cafeteria occasionally ran out of food because the staff cut back on the number of meals in order to match bookkeeping records.
