Oklahoma man clearing brush killed by tree branch

WOODALL, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man is
dead after he was struck by a tree branch as he cleared brush in a
pasture in rural Cherokee County, near the community of Woodall.

The victim of the accident about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday was identified in an OHP news release as 73-year-old Billy Vincent of Tahlequah.

The release said Vincent was riding a tractor and bushhogging the pasture when he tried to use the tractor's front-end loader to push a large tree limb. Instead, the OHP said, the branch "recoiled and struck him in the head and neck." The release said Vincent was taken to a hospital in Tahlequah, where he was pronounced dead on arrival from a head injury.
