McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - Manslaughter charges against two men in the alcohol-related death of a 19-year-old McAlester man have been reduced to furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Assistant Pittsburg County District Attorney Justin Garrett told The McAlester News-Capital that the charges against 20-year-old Jackson Herrick and 23-year-old Justin Hatcher were reduced based on plea negotiations with defense attorneys. Garrett declined to offer other details.
Herrick's attorney did not return a phone call seeking comment. A working telephone number for Hatcher could not be found.
Herrick and Hatcher were charged following the January death of 19-year-old William Hatridge during a birthday party in a field near Blocker.
