TISHOMINGO, Okla. (AP) - Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby will give his State of the Nation address next month.
The address is part of the tribe's annual meeting and festival, which runs Sept. 28-Oct. 5.
The State of the Nation address will be Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. at Murray State College in Tishomingo.
Anoatubby says Chickasaw tribal members travel hundreds of miles to take part in the annual meeting and festival each year in order to renew their connection to the Chickasaw Nation.
In addition to the address, the meeting and festival will feature a parade, an art show and market, stickball exhibition, a traditional stomp dance and more.
