DURANT, OK -- Durant residents will soon have a shorter wait time at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
The city held the grand opening for it's new, expanded DMV office Wednesday.
The city renovated the old police station to house the facility and there will now be two examiners on staff.
Area supervisor Stephen Bunyard says the city offered the building after they talked about the high need.
Bunyard says all the extra space will help increase productivity.
According to Bunyard, "We're heavily into customer service on our end. Because we deal with the public and when you have a place this nice to come to work, it puts you in a good mood, and you're ready to do your job. "
Bunyard says the old building didn't have an indoor waiting room or restrooms.
