OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A flood advisory is in effect for the Oklahoma City area after heavy rainfall flooded some roads.
The National Weather Service says up to 3 inches of rain fell early Wednesday, with an additional half-inch to inch of rain possible in the morning. Forecasters say the heaviest rain fell over the central portions of Oklahoma City.
Minor flooding is expected throughout Oklahoma City, along with Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, The Village, Warr Acres, Nichols Hills, Spencer, Jones and Nicoma Park.
The weather service says excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding on some streets and underpasses. Drivers are encouraged to be cautious during the morning commute Wednesday.
