ELK CITY, Okla. (AP) - A judge has scheduled a Sept. 4 preliminary hearing for an Elk City man charged in the shooting death of his mother.
Aaron Stigleman is charged with first-degree murder with deliberate intent and kidnapping in the death of his mother, 56-year-old Karen Stigleman.
Elk City police say officers were called to a home on Feb. 13 on reports of a shooting. Once there, officers saw a man run naked from the home and into an alley. Police say the man, later identified as Aaron Stigleman, refused to comply with officers' commands to lie down on the ground.
After Stigleman was subdued, authorities found the body of Karen Stigleman inside the home. Authorities say police recovered a handgun and semi-automatic rifle from the home.
Stigleman remains jailed.
