ALBERT, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an Indiana teenager drowned while swimming at Fort Cobb Lake.
The highway patrol says 18-year-old Tessa Christian of Lafayette, Ind., drowned Wednesday afternoon on the lake in south central Oklahoma. The Oklahoman reports that Christian's body was recovered Thursday by a patrol dive team in 26 feet of water.
Authorities say winds were gusting when Christian went under the choppy water. She never resurfaced, and authorities say her body was recovered about 200 yards south of Goose Island and 100 yards west of Cove Point.
