BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe and a senior Department of Defense official are visiting Broken Arrow to announce a $13.5 million contract.
Inhofe and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy Plans and Programs Sharon Burke will announce the awarding of the contract on Friday to the L-3 Westwood facilities in Broken Arrow.
The company is developing a power grid modernization program. The new technology is part of an effort to reduce fuel usage.
Inhofe says the contract will require 20,000 additional labor hours and lead to new jobs at L-3 Westwood's facility in Broken Arrow.
