Judge to hear arguments on Okla. abortion drug law

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A hearing has concluded on a challenge to an Oklahoma law that restricts how doctors can treat women with abortion-inducing drugs.

Opponents of the law Thursday asked a judge to declare the law unconstitutional. Lawyers for the state argue that the Oklahoma constitution doesn't guarantee a right to abortion and that the Legislature can impose limits pregnancy termination.

The judge gave both sides five days to file briefs and said he would rule sometime after the briefs are submitted.

The measure in question was signed into law in 2011 but a temporary injunction issued in October prevented it from being enforced.
