LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - The murder trial of a Lawton man is being delayed because of the death of his defense attorney.

Jimmy Nazario Jr. was scheduled for trial on a second-degree murder charge in October - but defense attorney Kenneth Rhoads was killed in a motorcycle accident in July.

The Lawton-Constitution reports that Comanche County District Judge Keith Aycock on Tuesday agreed to postpone the start of the trial at the request of new defense attorney Jordan Cabelka.

The 22-year-old Nazario is charged in the December 2011 shooting death of Ervin Manigault outside a west Lawton apartment complex. He has pleaded not guilty.
