OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police are investigating after a man died after he was taken into police custody.
Police say the incident happened Friday afternoon at a gas station in Oklahoma City. According to police, officers were called to the gas station to investigate reports of a person trying to force his way into several vehicles.
Once there, officers encountered 28-year-old Oral Allen Murray and used "physical force" to take Murray to the ground. Police say no weapons were used against Murray.
Police say Murray was handcuffed and placed in an air-conditioned patrol car. Authorities say officers interviewed witnesses and later noticed that Murray was in "medical distress." He was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of death is still under investigation.
