Man turns self in over Lake Eufaula boat crash

McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - A man believed to be the driver of a boat that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Lake Eufaula has turned himself in.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Monday that 30-year-old Ryan Shumway of McAlester had not been arrested and that any charges were pending with the district attorney's office.

Authorities say 55-year-old Gary McIninch of Oklahoma City was killed in the July 4th incident. Three others, including two young children, were injured.

Witnesses said the driver of the boat circled after hitting two other boats and asked if anyone was hurt. While people in the other two boats looked for McIninch, the first boater left the scene.

The boat driver turned himself in to the McIntosh County district attorney's office.
