CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) - A new children's advocacy center in Claremore is accepting donations to mark the facility's Feb. 10 open house.
The center provides services to abused children. Since 2001, the center has served children and families from Craig, Mayes and Rogers counties. Last year, the agency provided services to 346 children.
Area grocery stores are partnering with the district attorney's office to sponsor a drive for donations from the center's wish list in the days prior to the open house.
People are encouraged to drop off donations at Reasor's grocery stores in Claremore and Catoosa, Carter's Foods in Vinita and the district attorney's office in Pryor.
Some of the needs include snacks, coloring books, stuffed animals and school supplies.
