TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A judge has entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of a Tulsa teenager charged in the beating death of his mother.
The 17-year-old is accused in last month's death of 56-year-old Linda Laird. A court filing says Laird had been beaten to death with a "blunt instrument."
At Friday's hearing, the judge scheduled a March 14 preliminary hearing for the 17-year-old boy, who is being held without bond.
A relative found Laird dead on Jan. 22 and her son was arrested the next day. Another teen was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint in Laird's death, but he has not yet been formally charged. That teen has a hearing set for next week.
