OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City Public Schools principal has been appointed to a national education leadership board that studies federal education policy.
Extended Educational School Services Principal Debra Thomas will serve a four-year term on the board of directors of the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The group is the leading organization for middle level and high school principals, assistant principals, and all school leaders in the U.S. and 38 other countries.
Thomas is a former middle school principal and building administrator. She has served the Oklahoma Association of Secondary School Principals as an executive committee member and district representative.
In her new role she will help shape the group's federal education policy agenda for secondary schools and students. Thomas attends her first meeting this week in Charlotte, NC.
