NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - University of Oklahoma employees affected by last week's tornadoes will be eligible for up to 15 days paid leave as they recover from the storms.
OU President David Boren says using paid administrative leave will eliminate the need for employees to take vacation or sick leave to attend to personal needs.
University workers who had relatives die in the tornadoes are eligible for the leave, as are employees who were injured or had relatives who were hurt. The leave also extends to university workers whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the storms.
Twenty-four people died in the May 20 tornado in Moore. A day earlier, two people were killed when a tornado touched down near Shawnee.
