NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The University of Oklahoma's class of 2013 is giving the school a new sign as its class gift.
Members of the class have raised about $6,000 for the brick-and-stone sign to be placed at the south entrance to campus. The sign will read "The University of Oklahoma."
The class is still raising money for the sign, which remains in the planning stages.
Since 1906, OU students have left behind a special gift to campus. Previous class gifts include a reflecting pool, sculptures, a fountain and arches on campus.
From 2009 to 2012, class gifts were a series of stained-glass windows in Oklahoma Memorial Union.
