Okla. AG names Charles Rogers senior assistant AG

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt has named longtime prosecutor Charles Rogers as his senior assistant attorney general.

Rogers has served as a felony prosecutor in the state for 28 years. He's handled cases that include bribery, securities fraud, murder, perjury, embezzlement and multiple cases of government corruption.

Rogers joined the Attorney General's Office in 1978 before leaving briefly to serve as a deputy appellate public defender for Oklahoma in 1980. During the next 20 years he served as a prosecutor in the Attorney General's Office and for district attorneys in Payne, Logan and Oklahoma counties.

Rogers most recently served as chief of the attorney general's Multicounty Grand Jury Unit.

Pruitt says Rogers has impressive credentials as a prosecutor and brings great expertise and dedication to the office.
