OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Political and business leaders in Oklahoma City will join with health care officials to announce the creation of a new volunteer-driven program to provide health care to low-income, uninsured people in Oklahoma County.

The result of a yearlong effort by a commission that focused on this uninsured population, the Oklahoma County Community Health Network will be unveiled during a press conference Tuesday at Good Shepherd Ministries in Oklahoma City.

The network is a coordinated system of volunteer health care that involves primary care medical homes, case management, and a coordinated referral system.

Among those involved in the effort are Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett, the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma County Medical Society, several hospitals and nonprofit foundations.
