OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City man has pleaded guilty to threatening violence in Casper, Wyo.

U.S. Attorney Sanford Coats says 34-year-old Glenn Allen Kirkham pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Oklahoma City.

The threats were made Jan. 14 on an Internet-based bulletin board service. Authorities in Casper then locked down 40 schools, notified area hospitals and nursing homes and police were sent to areas where an attack was considered possible.

Kirkham was arrested the same day and said he had "posted a work of artistic falsehood." Investigators have said Kirkham was apparently upset about a possible automatic weapons ban.

Kirkham faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and restitution for the cost of emergency responders. Sentencing is set for June 19.
