OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Two Oklahoma utilities say the number of customers without power has fallen by nearly half to 24,000, mostly in the west and northwest corners of the state hit hardest by a winter storm.

Much of that decrease comes from Enid, which Oklahoma Gas and Electric says has gone from more than 21,000 customers without power Tuesday afternoon to just over 11,000. About 10,000 OG&E customers elsewhere still don't have power.

The Public Service Company of Oklahoma reports about 2,000 of its customers remain without power, mostly in counties west of Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma residents and repair crews face more than a foot of snow in some areas of the state's northwest quadrant with even higher drifts.
