OKLAHOMA CITY,OK. (AP) - An Oklahoma City animal rescue group has recovered 32 pugs from a home where they were subject to neglect and malnourishment.
The group Homeward Bound said Monday that 19 of the dogs were puppies.
Oklahoma City television station KWTV reports that the group has already sent 11 of the dogs to a rescue group in Houston. The rest were being checked out by a veterinarian.
Homeward Bound already had 40 dogs up for adoption, so the 21 pugs it has taken on increased the group's dog population by just over 50 percent.
Organizers say that six of the puppies are quite sick and are getting treatment.
