OKESA, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say a northeast Oklahoma woman was killed after she was pinned underneath her riding lawnmower.
Osage County Undersheriff Lou Ann Brown says 43-year-old Deanna Kay Pierce was using a large lawnmower on an incline Monday when the accident occurred. Brown tells the Examiner-Enterprise that the lawnmower rolled over and pinned Pierce underneath.
Brown says a friend discovered Pierce at about 2:50 p.m. Monday on the rural Okesa property near U.S. 60.
Brown says the sheriff's office is awaiting a report from the state medical examiner on Pierce's cause of death.
