THE VILLAGE, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in The Village are investigating after a woman was found shot to death inside of a car.

Police say officers responded to what appeared to be a car accident late Thursday in The Village. Once there, officers discovered that the driver of the car had been shot multiple times. The vehicle had crashed through a fence into the front yard of a home.

Police have not released the woman's name, but they say she lived in the neighborhood. No arrests have been made.

Authorities believe the woman may have been shot while she was driving.

Police say this is the first homicide in The Village in more than four years. The Village is a city in Oklahoma County and is part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
