DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) - A teenager accused of killing a 14-year-old Oklahoma girl has been bound over for trial as an adult on a first-degree murder charge.
Michael Ray is charged in the June stabbing death of Alyssa Wiles in Duncan. In court on Monday, Judge Jerry Herberger ruled there was sufficient evidence for the 16-year-old Ray to stand trial on the murder charge.
The Duncan Banner reports (http://bit.ly/16v9Des ) that the judge also rejected a defense request that Ray be tried as a juvenile.
Authorities say Alyssa was stabbed to death with a kitchen knife in her home. A 14-year-old boy told authorities that Ray went to Alyssa's home because he was upset she had broken up with him.
Arraignment is set for Oct. 17.
