POTEAU, Okla. (AP) - Testimony continues Thursday in the trial of an Oklahoma man charged with child neglect and sexual abuse after authorities found his nine children living in squalid conditions.
The Poteau Daily News reports a jury of five women and seven men is considering the case in LeFlore County. In October, a judge declared a mistrial because too many potential jurors said they'd formed opinions on the case.
The children were taken into state custody in 2011. The man's wife pleaded no contest last week to child neglect and enabling child sexual assault.
On Wednesday, jurors were shown photographs of the couple's home and camper, as well as pictures of the children.
The Associated Press is not identifying the man or woman to protect the identities of the children.
