Tulsa ex-mayor is 2nd candidate seeking top post

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Former Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor says she's seeking a second term as the city's top executive, nearly four years after abruptly announcing she would walk away from the post when her first term expired.

Taylor, a Democrat, said then she had grown tired of the partisan politics and personal agendas she said were being placed ahead of the city's well-being.

She says she wants back in because she believes the political climate at City Hall has changed and says she can work with current city councilors.

Taylor becomes the second candidate to announce for the job.

Former Councilor Bill Christiansen, a Republican, announced for the post last year. Current Mayor Dewey Bartlett, also a Republican, has not yet announced whether he's seeking re-election.

The primary election is June 11.
